Area of Research
Translational and clinical research in reconstructive dentistry involves the development, testing and application of various materials for fixed dental prostheses (crown-bridge), removable dental restorations and restorations on dental implants. The goal is to optimize the CAD / CAM support in fabrication and development of low biofilm adherence surfaces, focusing on soft tissue interactions, hard tissue adhesion, and the mechanical stability of screwed and cemented reconstructions.
Approved Research Projects
ITI (2019 – 2022): Supplementary implants supporting conventional RDP’s in Kennedy Class I and II: A dual-centered randomized controlled clinical trial N°1376_2019 (N. Zitzmann)
Collaborations
National Collaborations
- ITI / University Basel/Bern (2018 - 2021): Complete digital workflows for the treatment with multi-unit implant-supported fixed dental prostheses (iFDP): A double blinded and double randomized controlled trial. (T. Joda)
International Collaborations
- ITI / Universities Bangkok (2019 – 2021): Patient-reported outcome measures comparing complete digital chairside and conventional workflows for the treatment with single-unit restorations: A double-blinded randomized controlled trial. (T. Joda)
- ITI / University RWTH Aachen (2019 – 2022): Supplementary implants supporting conventional RDP’s in Kennedy Class I and II: A dual-centered randomized controlled clinical trial N°1376_2019 (N. Zitzmann)
