The Study Manager Research Lunch is a training series for research staff with responsibility for the operational implementation of clinical studies and patient-oriented research projects. Initiated by Esther Seeberger, herself a study coordinator and monitor for many years, it developed into an institution at the USB over 15 years. Esther is now embarking on a new chapter in her life. The Research Lunch will continue to pass.

Whether study nurse, study coordinator or study manager, operational staff in patient-oriented research bear a great deal of responsibility. In most cases, these specialists are the central point of contact for the entire study team, the study participants and all project partners. They coordinate the planning and smooth running of all study activities, they take care of study medication and sample collection and processing, and they ensure legally compliant documentation. These activities require solid training and continuing education. The Research Lunch offers the latter, as well as the opportunity to get to know other colleagues.

Originating from another training offer

Esther Seeberger has undergone in-depth training and regular further education in the course of her professional career. Among other things, she completed the Diploma of Advanced Studies Clinical Trial Practice and Management programme offered by the DKF, which requires the submission of a practical final thesis. Esther's idea of creating a training series by study managers for study managers and thus giving this professional group visibility and a networking opportunity was extremely successful. The Research Lunch must therefore continue. A succession is currently being sought.

The DKF, which has accompanied and supported the Research Lunch over the years, would like to thank Esther Seeberger for her many years of commitment and wishes her all the best!
