This study investigates the rapid detection of acute myocardial infarction in patients who present to the emergency department more than twelve hours after the onset of chest pain. Until now, it was not known whether the rapid diagnostic algorithms could be safely applied to these "late presenters". The research group was able to show that the very high safety and high efficiency of the ESC 0/1h algorithm developed in Basel is given.
