Dr. Patricia Hafner and Dr. Ulrike Bonati (Neuropaediatrics/UKBB) from Prof. Dirk Fischer's DKF research group are the first authors of a work recently published in the JAMA Network Open. The randomized controlled trial investigated the effect of treatment with L-citrulline in combination with metformin on motor function in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and found a trend-setting improvement, which was not statistically significant due to the limited sample size.
