One of the most promising therapeutic approaches against Covid-19 is being tested at the University Hospital in Basel. Prof. Andreas Buser, head of the Blood Donation Centre of the two Basel universities and head of a research group at the DKF, reports in the science magazine of Radio SRF 2 about the research project in which COVID-19 is being used to treat patients with transfusions of convalescent blood plasma from convalescent patients.

The study is headed by DKF research group leader Prof. Manuel Battegay (Infectiology & Hospital Hygiene/USB). The DKF supports the study team in regulatory issues, manages the database and heads the Data Safety Monitoring Board.
