Organising clinical studies is a tricky business, as our snakes and ladders game shows.
In Switzerland, fewer and fewer clinical studies are being carried out. In this article in the SNSF research magazine "Horizons", Prof. Christiane Pauli-Magnus, CO Director of the DKF and President of the SCTO, comments on the possible causes of the dwindling number of clinical studies in this country.
For Christiane Pauli-Magnus, the pure number of studies is not the main focus. What is needed above all is more randomised, controlled studies, full-time project management and the involvement of patients in the planning process. The CTUs in the university hospitals have an important role to play in this. They can actively support the researchers in all phases of your project.
