Recommended courses for (MD-)PhD students in Clinical Research
The third part of the PhD training alongside the dissertation and the doctoral examination is the acquisition of credits (ECTS).
- For students who started their PhD before 1 August 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine or SwissTPH, the curriculum contains a minimum of 12 ECTS.
- For students who started their PhD after 1 August 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine or SwissTPH, the curriculum contains a minimum of 18 ECTS.
Tip: Some smaller courses do not directly award ECTS. They can be combined with another courses to reach a workload of 30 hours. To add this courses to your academic record, please create a Learning Contract (LC) in MOnA (choosing your supervisor as the assessor and pass/fail as assessment) before the start of the course and follow the instructions of your respective faculty. Please note: LC must be prepared in advance!
