LIGHTS - LIbrary of Guidance for Health Scientists

Summary
Guidance for research methods are essential for the quality of clinical research. Unfortunately, many clinical studies fail to adhere to key methods guidance. One reason is that guidance articles are extremely difficult to find. Major databases such as MEDLINE und Embase lack filter and keywords for research methods. In addition, reporting standards for methods guidance are not available, leading to a great variation in terminology and styles.

To support the search for methods guidance, we developed the new, open-access repository LIGHTS:

www.lights.science

LIGHTS supports scientists and methods consultants in their search of up-to-date methods guidance through an efficient and user-oriented interface.

An international team of experts is continuously updating and improving the database.

Supporters include the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Research Fund of the University of Basel, and Karakun AG.
